Exploring the Tokenization of Real-World Assets

Mitch Scott-Rogan, Marketing & Communications Specialist at Blocksquare, presented a brief overview of what the tokenization of real-world assets entails. For the uninitiated, tokenization is the process of converting rights to an asset into a digital token on a blockchain.

He then presented the challenges and opportunities available in real estate tokenization and introduced Blocksquare and its role as a solution provider in asset tokenisation.

Tokenization promises to democratize investments in real estate by making them more accessible, liquid, and transparent. The session clarified how this emerging technology could reshape the landscape of real estate investment, making it clear that we're on the brink of a new era.

Panel Discussion: Real Experiences from the Forefront

The highlight was undoubtedly the panel discussion featuring users. Brandon Bartlett, the CEO of Orange Brick Road, highlighted how services such as Stormrake simplify the conversion process between fiat and cryptocurrency. Wayne Sweetman, who was the first property owner to utilize the tokenization protocol in Western Australia; Karoline Kolman, the Perth Regional Hub Chair; and Minnie Reynolds, Director of Tecstack, shared their real-world experiences.

This session provided attendees with the unique opportunity to hear directly from those pioneering this space.

Panellists shared their journeys, challenges, successes, and the potential they see in tokenized real estate, and self-governance offering invaluable insights into the practicalities and prospects of this new approach.

A Glimpse into the Future: Buying and Selling Property Tokens on Oceanpoint
